On November 8, 2022, Dallas voters approved a resolution to increase the hotel occupancy tax rate by 2%.
This tax increase, paid entirely by Dallas hotel stays, will allow for the development of a new convention center district and fund improvements at historic Fair Park, transforming the City for generations to come.

3C - West of Lamar
In February 2022, the Dallas City Council selected option 3C – West of Lamar as the preferred option for the convention center.
This transformative concept will create:
new and exciting destinations for everyone in the heart of the City,
area-wide transportation improvements, including an integrated public transit center that connects Dallas neighborhoods
and economic opportunities, creating thousands of jobs
The result will transform our downtown area into a world-class convention center district where people will live, work, and play.
